“A troubadour who plays guitar and harmonica—wickedly... his message resolves into buoyancy and joy.” —David Rubien, Music Writer
Singer-songwriter Jerome Zeiger has been making up songs since childhood. He taught himself blues harmonica while living off the grid in rural Vermont, eventually sharing stages with legends like Koko Taylor, Son Seals, and Magic Slim.
“Better than guys who have been playing around here for years.”—Chicago Blues legend Louis Myers
Expanding into fingerstyle guitar and original songwriting, Jerome’s “Phase 2” has lived in many parts of the U.S., becoming known for performances that blend intimacy, humor, and heart. He wrote “Hey Plastiki” when he was inspired by a magazine article about the upcoming voyage of the namesake boat, built entirely from recycled plastic bottles. Its sponsor, eco-adventurer David de Rothschild, heard the “dope tune” and invited Jerome to the christening. The song became a favorite sing-along of the captain and crew and later appeared in a National Geographic documentary about the voyage.
“He’s always been dialed in to the beauty, humor, and hardship that make us human, and he somehow turns all of that into songs with real heart.”—Danny Kahn, Music Producer & Artist Manager.
This spring, Jerome heads to California to record a a ton of original tracks with full band. Watch this space for news of upcoming shows!
